Birnbaum, Meg
Circle Swing, Archival Inkjet on fine art cotton rag, 10.5" x 10.5" or 7.5" x 7.5"
I graduated from Montserrat College of Art where I studied photography, illustration and graphic design—returning to chair the Illustration Department for one year. I have worked extensively as a graphic designer specializing in print and magazines—my favorite as founding art director of Cook’s Illustrated and as art director during the redesign of The American Prospect. Magazine art direction allowed me to work closely with many professional photographers. After a long absence I reconnected with my passion for photography by attending a Photography Atelier seminar at Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study. Later I continued my pursuit through a course at Lesley University, weekend workshops at The Center for Photography at Woodstock, a Maine Photographic Workshop and a class at The New England School of Photography.
