Sarah Blodgett is a portrait and landscape photographer in upstate New York. Born in New York City, her family moved to the Hudson Valley in the late 60’s. Since the purchase of her first camera at the age of ten, Dutchess and Columbia Counties have been her chief source of inspiration for her landscapes and still lives, and have also served as backdrops for her portrait work.

Her education includes the San Francisco Art Institute and a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in visual arts from SUNY New Paltz.

Sarah’s work has been exhibited at the Tivoli Artist Co-op in Tivoli New York, Debbie Davis Fine Art Gallery in Hudson, NY, Madelyn Jordan Fine Art in Scarsdale NY, the Affordable Arts Fair in NYC, and many group shows in the Tri State region. Her work has been published in Fine Gardening, Country Living Gardener, The Country, The Catskill Guide, The Knot , Martha Stewart, and 2wice magazine published by Pentagram. She is currently signed with Graphistock in NYC.

Current projects include a childrens book of nature, floral studies, and British landscapes, and an on going landscape study of upstate New York. Her work is currently showing at the Hammertown Barn in Rhinebeck, NY.

It has been said that her photographs “capture a moment of time or an edited sample of the world around us…Like all dedicated photographers, Sarah Blodgett helps us narrow our visual field so that we stop and notice. We pay attention and feel the better for having done so.”
