Croatian Contemporary
Ivana Mlinar has loved art and the process of making art since she was a child. With an early fascination, she focused her academics on the study of Italian Renaissance Art in Florence, Venice, Padua, Pisa, and Verona, Italy from the years of 1975 to 1979. Upon completing this training, she studied at the University of Split in Croatia where in 1984 she earned a Masters of Fine Art in Print Making and the History of Medieval Arts. In 1986, a few years after graduating, Ivana became a member of Croatian Association of Fine Artists and since then has participated in a number of major juried fine art exhibitions.

Twenty years ago Ivana came to South Florida and continued working and exhibiting her paintings at The Society of the Four Arts, Palm Beach, Museum of Modern Art, Fort Lauderdale (MOA/FL) and Cornell Museum, Delray Beach Center for The Arts. She has received awards from Cornell Museum, Delray Beach Center for The Arts and from Zephyr at Royal Palm Beach. Her work was featured on Home and Garden TV. Ivana has participated in group shows in the USA (Florida, New York, California), France (Paris), and her native country Croatia (Split, Zagreb, Brac). Her solo exhibitions have been held in New York (USA), Brac & Split (Croatia), and Florence (Italy).
