Elaine Franz Witten is an award winning and classically trained bronze sculptor.She received art education at Connecticut College, Columbia University and was a student at the Carving Studio, West Rutland, VT. She also studied with Jane Armstrong, FNSS.

Ms. Witten’s bronze sculpture has been shown regularly in national and international exhibitions and awarded numerous prizes. Her work is in private collections throughout the U.S., Canada and as far away as the private collection of King Abdullah Miteb Ben Saud, Saudi Arabia. She is also a purveyor to the US State Department. Ms. Witten’s commissions and works are in corporate collections from Vermont to Alaska and are on public display in the Public Library in Dorset, VT, on the Village Green in Old Bennington, VT and at St. Mary Medical Foundation, Langhorn, PA. She is represented by Fine Art Firm, Louisville, KY, and Landmark Gallery, Kennebunkport, ME.

Ms. Witten chose bronze as her medium because it is the material best suited for her work, which favors open forms that incorporate movement and negative space.Her primary focus is to distill the chosen subject matter into its ultimate expressive synthesis of beautiful form, gesture and sprits.The human figure, animals, birds and antique musical instruments make up the body of her work.

She teaches sculpture workshops at the Southern Vermont Art Center in Manchester, VT, and gives lectures on the lost-wax method of creating bronze sculpture incorporating a CD she produced about bronze casting.

Ms. Witten’s juried professional affiliations include the National Association of Women Artists, NY, NY; Academic Artists’ Association, Springfield, MA and the Copley Society, Boston, MA, where she is a “Copley Artist”, Manhattan Arts International, NY, NY.
