This set of two polo players is from the Tang Dynasty, c. 618-907 AD. The players each measure about 8.5 inches high, and the horses are about 12 inches long. There is original polychrome remaining and they are both in excellent condition. They come with Thermoluminescence Reports from Oxford dated in 2002.

 

This set of six polo players is from the Tang Dynasty, c. 618-907 AD. The players each measure about 7 inches high, and the horses are about 9 inches long. They were purchased at the Antique Center in Bath, England in 1984. There is polychrome remaining on all of them and they are in excellent condition.

Jonathan Routh 1927-2008

A Helpful Form of TransportWe are sad to report the passing of Jonathan Routh on Wednesday, June 4th, 2008. Jonathan co-starred in the British version of the television show Candid Camera (1960-67) and co-starred with Germaine Greer and Kenny Everett in Nice Time. He published a number of humorous books, painted for many years, and exhibited regularly in Jamaica, Italy and the United States. He is survived by his wife , Shelagh and two sons from his first marriage, Christian, who lives in Barcelona, Spain, and Jonathan, who lives in Frankfurt, Germany.

Jonathan Routh wintered at Fort Victoria, Tryall Club, Sandy Bay in the parish of Hanover, Jamaica, West Indies and also spent summers in Nacolina, Conco Doro, Castellina in Chianti, and Sienna, Italy.
