For chilly nights, interior designer Geri Roper has introduced a luxury line of dog and horse blankets. As a horse lover, Geri has spent many hours at the horse shows watching her daughter, Whitney, competed nationally in the equitation, hunter and jumper divisions.
Each year, when Geri was in Wellington for the Winter Equestrian Festival, she would treat herself to an exquisite horse blanket and either her horses or she would use them. Her horses (which include the champion Sister Parrish) were beautifully turned out and well dressed. One day, someone approached Geri and asked if she would design custom horse clothing for their barn. She thought about it and decided since she had previously designed children’s clothing, was currently a successful interior designer, and loved horses and beautiful fabrics, why not?
Geri has a farm named Hedge Row and has married all of her interests under that name. Her elegant line, which is also available at Chisholm Gallery LLC & Emporium, incorporates a stunning trove of resources for fine fabrics and trims. They range from utilitarian burlap to luxurious cashmere (never mind the horses, how about curling up in front of the fire with a good book or a handsome man with this blanket?).
Geri has embellished each blanket with exquisite details for closures, gorgeous leather straps to antique Louis Vuitton luggage tags which are embossed with either the horse’s name, barn name or customer name.Hedge Row is currently taking custom orders through Chisholm Gallery, LLC.
