Frescoes

What we call " Frescoes " are entirely hand-painted rooms. Our Iksel Frescoes are not painted " al fresco " on wet surfaces which exact very fast execution by the painter. We simply call them frescoes because of their similar function and visual aspect.

"Frescoes" are made exactly like the Decorative Panels as far as technique is concerned. The main difference is that they are conceived as a decor and designed to entirely cover a room, with a unified theme either floor to ceiling or above a chair railing or a wall, thus being subjected to custom measurements and application.

The purpose of frescoes is to fully decorate a room and create a unique atmosphere. They are prepared according to elevations and fit the room like a glove. In all the years we have worked on them, there has never been a mistake in the fitting.

CONDITIONS AND PROCEDURE

- Frescoes can either be done according to our designs or custom-fitted to your project or can be entirely conceived in a new design which can be discussed and for which we will do the necessary research and submit maquettes. ( Renderings )

- Before starting any form of preparatory work on a project we give our Client an estimate based on measurements and complexity. The client then makes a 50% downpayment to Chisholm Gallery, LLC.

- We then draw out a layout of the project and upon approval of layout send a final draft as well as a sizeable sample of the real scale painting so that the client can see color and technique.

- The Client gives his final go-ahead.

- The project is completed and photographed digitally. The detailed photos are sent by e-mail or by mail for approval. Small changes can be made.

- The Client pays the full balance on the project before it is shipped.

- We give written instructions about hanging or mounting according to the installation choice of the Client.

- The full project is installed in a few days. For the client this avoids muralists and scaffolding on site for months on end. Our panels go up almost as easily and as quickly as wallpaper.

The result is infinitely more complex and finely painted than what can be done directly on a wall. We have objectively compared our work with the most famous Italian frescoes and although their virtuosity is nonpareil, the conditions on wet plaster in a palazzo did not allow the fine detail we can put into our work and which is similar to the finest painting done on 18th century furniture.
