British Contemporary

Deborah Burt was born in Wilstshire, England in 1971 and having drawn all her life, a brush with serious illness led her to experiment with sculpture in 2005. Commissions rapidly followed, reflecting her life long love of horses and dogs and in particular, Racing and Hunting.

She has regularly exhibited with the Society of Women Artists and also the Society of Equestrian Artists in both London and Newmarket.

“The challenge to capture the essence of an animals’ character and a sense of movement in three dimensions is one that I particularly enjoy and that I strive to improve upon with each new sculpture.”

Recent commissions for Hound Studies led to a visit to the South Dorset Hunt Kennels, this work is ongoing and further sculptures will be cast in 2012.
